Hindu Council UK requests all its affiliated temples and organisations to pray and fund-raise towards helping alleviate the sufferings of the Palestinian children. Donations can go to children’s charities like UNICEF or through other governmental sources working in the Gaza area.
In the Ramayana, the life history of Lord Rama, when his wife Sita was abducted by the demon king Ravana, Lord Rama crossed the seas to first negotiate and failing that then battle with Ravana to free Sita. Lord Rama always observed the righteous rules of war to contain his battle with Ravana’s army only. After freeing Sita, Lord Rama coronated Ravana’s brother Vibeshan, who was good and pious, to rule over their kingdom of Lanka. We must always uphold the values of our faith in God and Humanity.
We pray that this humanitarian pause be extended indefinitely until a negotiated settlement can be reached to free the remaining hostages.
