PRESS RELEASE: “Indo European Kashmir Forum”

7 Amaranath Pilgrims Killed, 32 Injured in Terror Attack in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, in the District of Anantnag.

Indo-European Kashmir Forum condemns the cowardly attack on the Amaranath Yatris by the Islamic militants on 10 July 2017. The innocent and unarmed Hindu pilgrims were on a religious pilgrimage to the holy cave when this reprehensible attack was launched on them. The Forum was appalled to learn about yet another attack on Amaranath Yatris as the Islamic Militants have targeted the Hindu pilgrims before on several occasions repeatedly.

We strongly urge the Central and State Governments to set up an appropriate body of commission to investigate into the killings of these innocent pilgrims and bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice. It is important that the safety and protection of the Hindu pilgrims and the victims of this terror attack is adequate and fool-proof.

The Executive and members of Indo-European Kashmir Forum express deep sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the quick recovery of the injured Yatris.

May the departed souls rest in peace!
