“The UK India Year of Culture” follows the joint announcement in 2015 by Indian Prime Minister Modi and former-UK Prime Minister David Cameron of a bilateral initiative to mark cultural ties between the UK and India; as well as Prime Minister Theresa May’s visit to India in November 2016, which further strengthened the relationship between the two countries.
To celebrate the 2017 year of culture, a programme of events and exhibitions which will take place in both UK and India, in partnership with the British Council, the Indian High Commission in London, UK groups, Organisations and institutions and their Indian counterparts. The aim is to connect and inspire people to celebrate the long-standing relationship and vibrant cultural history.
ABOUT KIRTIDAN GADHVI:
An Indian singer who specialises in versatility of singing. He is a Famous Folk And Classical Singer, Composer, Judge Lok Gayak Gujarat, All Round Musician and 4 Times Global Mirchi Music Award Winner, “Dandiya King”.
Kirtidan Gadhvi an eminent name in the world of folk, has become an icon in the contemporary people of all age group. His intimate knowledge of all the facets of dayras, folk songs and depth in classical nuances has made his unique image in world of singing. Kirtidan Gadhvi became known when he appeared at a cow protection rally in Jamnagar, Gujarat in 2015 which raised Rs 4.5 crore. He sang the song “Laadki” on the TV show MTV Coke Studio along with Tanishka and Rekha Bhardwaj in April 2015. He was awarded Best Singer of the State by Gujarat government in 2015.

Mayabhai Ahir is also a versatile comedian who is at the peak of his popularity commanding a mind-boggling following. His diehard fans try to imitate many of his popular lines, which he delivers in his inimitable style. Indeed, if ever there was a superstar in Gujarati joke industry it is Mayabhai Ahir.
