The High Commissioner of India – Navtej Sarna hosted a reception at India House in London to thank all the community organisations and participants in the cultural programme who made the Independence Day celebrations held at the Indian Gymkhana Club on 21st August a huge success.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to participants by High Commissioner Navtej Sarna and Deputy High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik. The Independence Day celebrations held included The Flag Hoisting Ceremony by dignataries followed by singing of the National Anthem, cultural programmes, food stalls offering free meals from different regions of India, and a raffle draw with attractive prizes.
Hindu Council UK in association with Shree Ram Mandir Southall and Brilliant Restaurant Southall had a major stall at the event, where over 10,000 people were served delicious food by Brilliant Restaurant. Hindu Council UK, Shree Ram Mandir and Brilliant Restaurant have been supporting the India Independence Day celebrations at Gymkhana Club for the past 6 years.

Following, the Reception Hindu Council UK had a very fruitful meeting with the High Commissioner, Deputy High Commission er, Minister for Coordination and other representatives.
