I worked with Arjan ji Vekaria in the Council of Dharmic Faiths UK for a brief period and found him to be a straightforward person one could trust at face value and really earlier this year on the Caste issue we worked well together as a united front in the Alliance of Hindu Organisations, an alliance created to unite on issues that are central to preserving our way of Hindu life not least to not allow others to divide our community which for its diversity can be easily manipulated into factional divisions.
Arjan ji showed fortitude and vision in helping to form that much needed unity. It showed me how he genuinely cared for the Hindu values that we wish our next generations to identify with. Arjan ji’s sudden demise at the prime years of his life he was set to devote to Sewa is a tragedy not only for his family whose grief I do not think anyone could understand but its a great loss for the British Hindu community. Our prayers are with the family to find solace in the eternal words of Bhagwan Krishna in his divine song to another Arjan, the Arjan of the Pandava’s.
