Diwali 2013 Reception at No. 10 Downing Street by the Prime MinisterThe Diwali event at 10 Downing Street on 6 November brought a wide range of people together from the Hindu, Sikh, Jain and Nepalese community members including many British parliamentarians.

The Prime Minister commenced the celebrations by lighting the lamp whilst special Diwali prayers were led by Hindu priests. A group of school children entertained the audience by singing a Diwali choir which was greatly appreciated and applauded by the Prime Minister and the guests.

The Receptions Rooms at 10 Downing Street and the corridors reflected the true essence of Diwali with mounds of Indian sweets, the flicker of lights and floral decorations.
