A British Hindu Manifesto – The Hindu Council UK

Press Release: Indo-European Kashmir Forum (IEKF)

Indo-European Kashmir Forum and Hindu Council UK  welcome the ruling BJP’s monumental decision of abrogating Article 370 and bifurcating the state of Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories on 5 August,2019.

We congratulate and applaud Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and all Cabinet Ministers for this historic, bold and courageous decision.

The abrogation of Article 370 and Jammu and Kashmir bifurcation will end cross border terrorism, eradicate terror modules in Jammu and Kashmir, assimilate the state completely into India, and allow the Indian Constitution to be applicable to all citizens of J&K. All Indian citizens can settle or own businesses /properties in the newly bifurcated State and Union Territories. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will benefit most from these historic changes. There will be more investments, more industries and more job opportunities for the youth of J&K.

Mr. Bob Blackman, Member of Parliament for Harrow East, London, stated, “I strongly support the revocation of Article 370, Jammu & Kashmir has always been an integral part of India and Art 370 has always been an anomaly: it has held the area back by starving it of investments through the prevention of external ownership of land. Kashmiri Pandits must be guaranteed right to return after they were victims of ethnic cleansing and this move would prevent other minority groups being forced to leave the Kashmir Valley. The Valley provides excellent opportunities for agriculture and cultural handicraft exports, the development of hydro-electric power and tourism. Most important, however, is clearing the area of terrorists – high security is paramount. Narendra Modi has again shown proper and strong leadership in honouring  the manifesto of the BJP – now is the time to properly integrate Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Constitution. “

Shri Anil Bhanot  OBE, Founding Member of Hindu Council UK said “Article  370 of India’s Constitution giving a special status to Kashmir, originally  was just a  temporary provision  up to the point  of a plebiscite would be done.

However, when the plebiscite was done with the result in favour of India, it was rejected by Pakistan. Then the Islamists rather set out to ethnically cleanse Kashmir of all Hindus after which the Islamist politicians continued to ask for the self-determination of their state within a State. The Biblical exodus of Hindus in 1990 left them refugees in India. This article 370 had become an instrument of supremacy of the Kashmiri Muslim Politicians over their minorities with no care for them.
“An evil had to be quelled, which I commend PM Shri Modi Ji to do boldly as he did, whilst also protecting the squeezed Buddhist population of Ladakh by making it a separate union territory. I pray that spirituality may return to this beautiful valley – which used to be known as the fountain head of India’s spirituality – where all people can live with an equal status.”

The Executive Members of HCUK and IEKF hail this patriotic and visionary move in the direction of terrorism free Jammu and Kashmir. It is also a tribute to those prominent leaders who made huge sacrifices for a united India.

We are together looking forward at a very bright future and to unite India and Jammu Kashmir under one Tri Colour Flag.
