IEKF and the UK Kashmiri Hindus pay tributes to Kashmiri Hindu/Kashmiri Pandits Martyrs and the Indian Security forces who laid down their lives for their country and for their community. We also pay homage to all those Kashmiri people who lost their lives in the recent Kashmir floods. Our prayers and sympathies are with the families who became the victims of this horrible natural disaster. We applaud the Indian army who risked their lives in saving the lives of the Kashmiri people in the floods.
On 14 September we are reminded of the elements of 1989-1990 that led to our forced exodus from the Valley, the land of our birth.
For the exiled Kashmiri Hindus/Kashmiri Pandits September 14th 1989 marks the beginning of atrocities they suffered at the hands of terrorists and when the killings of Kashmiri Hindus from the Kashmir Valley began. The aftermath of such selective killings was the ethnic cleansing of Hindus from the Kashmir Valley which led to their tragic exodus.
The terrorists targeted many prominent Kashmiri Pandits, it was on 14 September 1989 when Pt.Tika Lal Taploo ,Shri Bal Kishen Ganjoo with many others fell to the bullets of assassin. Many Indian Security forces ,too, lost their lives while defending their country.
Today,on 14th September we join the Kashmiri Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits across the globe in paying homage to our brave men and women who lost their lives.
We remember the massacres that took place in the Kashmir Valley in 1990s and in early 2000s,such as Wandhama, Nadimarg, Chattisinhgpora, Sangrampore ect. The people were killed only because of their faith –their faith in the Hindu religion and their country India. These unsung Martyrs will remain in the hearts of their fellow Hindus and Pandits.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones at the hands of terrorists and due to the recent flood disaster in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmiri Hindus hope to return to the land of their birth with honour and dignity under the leadership of PM Shri Nirendra Modi and his new government.
Let us live in peace and in harmony. Jai India! Jai Hind!
