Indo European Kashmir Forum (IEKF) and Hindu Council UK (HCUK) _ 14 September 2025
Today, on 14 September 2025, Kashmiri Hindus observe and remember their Martyrs, their sacrifices and their bravery. 14 September is observed as ‘BALIDAN DIVAS’ the Martys Day of Kashmiri Hindus. 14 September marks the 36th anniversary of the brutal assassination of Pandit Tika Lal Taploo in 1989, a prominent lawyer and a political activist and the killing of a retired Judge, Neelkanth Ganjoo. Tika Lal Taploo’s assassination led to the end of the composite culture of the Valley, a culture where Hindus and Muslims once lived in harmony.
We also honour and remember the countless civilians and security personnel who fell to the bullets of the assassins, defending India’s sovereignty and integrity in Kashmir. Also, not forgetting the deadliest attack when nine Hindu pilgrims were killed and more than 30 people were injured after the militants opened fire on a bus that was making its way to a shrine in the Jammu region in June 2024 and the recent 26 victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack .The loss of their lives is a reminder of their resilience and their courage to fight the extremism. The forces of extremism reduced the entire Hindu, Sikh and the minority communities in the Valley of Kashmir to become refugees in their own country. We must stand up against extremism in all its forms.
We express our deepest condolences and prayers to the families and friends of all those who were killed in the act of genocide. Jai Hind.
